Exhibition "Montreal : A Fur Capital"
From June 29th to August 15th, 2015
The art of the furrier shaped a great part of Montreal’s identity.
Whether as a common handicraft article or the product of the luxury industry, fur has never ceased to reinvent itself, following the rhythm and heart of the city and of its people.
Craftsmen of the First Nations or well-established fashion designers reflect the city’s diversity and spirit.
Aiming to show Montreal’s impact and personality as a fur capital, the Centre Marius-Barbeau is inviting you to discover how the art of fashioning that precious material has evolved from pre-colonial times to now.
