The Marius-Barbeau Documentation Center is happy to be partners with The Canadian Museum of Civilisation in its project « Marius Barbeau, a Canadian hero and his period 1883-1969 ».

This music has been sent to us, without documentation, by Silviou Foussou from Moldavia.
The following explanations have been provided by choreographer Theodor Vasilescu.
Dance occasionally performed as a couple dance with a 7/16 rhythm. Under the name of « Geampara », it is performed throughout Moldavia, Dobrogea, Valachia and Oltenia and, in the rest of the country, as a ritual goat dance.
